Wedding Photography

Wedding Photojournalism has become a very popular style of wedding photography. Wedding photojournalism often appeals to younger couples who don't want a traditional wedding and therefore don't want traditional photos either.   They want the photos to tell the "story" of the entire day (including all those events occurring during the wedding that they never got to be a part of).

Big Sun Photography specializes in photo journalism style wedding photos.  Photographs are not taken in a traditional "posed" fashion.  They are candid and focus not just on the ceremony but include more of the event in full.  The people, the pre-wedding activities, the reception, the party.  As the name implies it's similar to having a journalist document your wedding as it unfolds rather than a photographer taking traditional "stiff" photos.

One of the advantages of a journalistic style wedding shoot is that you get to document the wedding as it actually occurs.  While there will be some basic set-up shots (a few "formal" shots is still always a good idea), the majority of the wedding is done in a completely candid style.  The kids are not perfect, Uncle Joe looks loopy, and the hugs and kisses are as they were when they happened.. not a plastic re-creation.
