Today I had planned to write an article about DSLR auto-focus tackling all the topics I’m often asked concerning focus modes, dynamic focus, group focus, etc. While looking into grabbing a few graphics online to help make my point I came across this article: DSLR Autofocus Modes Explained by NASIM MANSUROV. I ended up reading the entire article (it’s a long one) after which I decided there was no point in writing my own.
Nasim’s article “DSLR Autofocus Modes Explained” is so comprehensive, well written and understandable that I felt any attempt to write my own would just deprive my own readers of a better information source.
So there you have it. If you want to understand how your camera focus system works and which of the many camera settings to use under what circumstance, then get outta here…. head on over to Nasim’s article. It’s the best explanation of focus systems I’ve ever read. Note that this article is 4 years old already so a few things might be missing about the latest systems, but all in all it gives you everything you need.
