Whether or not portraits is the direction you wish to go with your photography, skills in portraiture are a "must have".  Why?  Because friends and family are always going to be asking you to take their photos.   Often this is the stepping stone to paying gigs and future opportunities.  Maybe you're into photographing weddings,,, or bands,,, or even animals.  Well, they all require you to master your portrait skills to be successful.

Good news!  Big Sun Photography has teamed up with John Wakefield, a lifetime portrait professional who was once commissioned to photograph Ronald Reagan.  Together we will be providing several portrait workshops here in the Denver area.  The workshops will be out of doors and will focus on using the natural environment and lighting to produce beautiful photographs of people.

Photoshop of course is an amazing way to do touch up work on portrait photography.  However, all too often the touch up artist takes things too far, either by choice or more often becuase they simply don't know the techniques for doing natural touch up work in Photoshop.  The following article gives you some great touchup techniques for skin, eyes, lips and teeth that result in very realistic natural looking images.  As with anything in Photoshop, there are a hundred variations on these techniques, but to get the basic concept down, just grab a portrait of yourself and follow along with the tutorial steps.
